Race No.13 of Season - Rich Felle

25 June 2010

Lots more Racing to come still, especially with the Mountain Bike National Championships on its way in 3.5 weeks time. This year I've certainly done a lot more racing in comparison to the years before. This will seemingly be a good thing says the coach and will stand to me.

So far Ive had a great season with some great results, however the last 3 races I came out feeling fairly flat and really struggled to get through them. Now, things are on the up again, after doing some back to back club races with my old club Team-Worc. I'm now starting to feel my usual strong and peppy self.

This time last year I was away more often doing some top international events such as a hors-category Mtb Race in Albstadt, Germany, a Swisspower Cup in Winterthur and of course the infamous Windhaag ASVO GranPrix Mtb Race in Austria,  These are some of the highest challenging races on the Pro circuit, and it was an honour to take part in each of them.

For 2010, Windhaags ASVO Gran Prix MTB race, hired Didi, the infamous Tour de France Devil to man the knarly rock drop that mames so many riders each year!! What a show it must have been! The weather was foul compared to last year, and seemingly it was a slippery and dangerous affair with a lot of catasrophe's. The vertical castle drop in the wet must have been insane! Catasrophe!

Here's a video from the race last year where I took part in.This video shows a real carnival atmosphere, way better than a world cup!  http://www.youtube.com/user/therocrider2009#p/a/u/1/FXwJbBFTHuY

Right now, I must prepare myself and my Trek 9.9 for the 13th race of the Season which will involve good brutal climbing.

Keep on Truckin'

Rich
